Working as a hospital healthcare professional, weekends are rarely a typical “weekend experience.” Often awake at 5AM and preparing for a looming 12-hour shift; I was grateful to remain in bed a while longer today.
I listened to the birds sing, and watched the sun slowly make its way. I enjoy mornings like these… When I know the day is mine, and not owed to a clock. Mornings when I can take my time and enjoy the blessing of another day.
Today was a reprieve.
I rose at my own pace, enjoyed breakfast, and still managed to proceed productively. It was nice to own my day and energy.
The more you give to others, the less you have, it’s true.
And you, my dear, are way too valuable to lose.
Too valuable to disappear, be shrunken or ignored.
You deserve it all my dear, to be cherished, and adored.
Refill your cup, replenish. Take time for what you need.
An empty cup, you cannot pour. I pray you do take heed.
